The Buildings at Persepolis
 Buildings of the Persian Kings at Ancient Persepolis

This painted sketch reveals an artists conception of the buildings of the Achaemenian Kings at ancient Persepolis. The platform was raised 30 feet high, the building on the right is the Propylaea of Xerxes, behind it is Hypostyle Hall of Xerxes. Behind it at the top right is the Palace of Darius and the Palace of Xerxes. In the center are palm trees for the kings to stroll, to the left is the magnificent Hall of a Hundred Columns built by Darius.
