Jenin. Greek name of En-gannim (Beth-haggan). A Levitical city in Issachar (Josh. 19:21; Josh. 21:20) also En-gannim is mentioned in Middle Bronze Age sources as Beth-haggan: cf. 2 Kgs. 9:27. It is referred to as Anem in I Chron 6:73.

The Bible reveals that Ahaziah, king of Judah, fled from Beth Haggan when Jehu pursued him. Most scholars identify Beth Haggan with Jenin the modern-day name for En-gannim.
