Prisoners Under the Footstool
Prisoners Under the Footstool
The King of Egypt Placing Feet On Foes

This sketch is from a larger one where Pharaoh (Amenhotep II 1448-1420 BC) places his feet upon his enemies, in this case his enemies were Negroes and Semites, who were caught in a snare.

Notice that the subjugated persons have their arms tied behind their backs and "have now been made his footstool."  The "footstool" is mentioned in Scripture as a part of the throne of the king and symbolizes God's throne.

"Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His footstool--He is holy." - Psalm 99:5

"So it was, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, "Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings." And they drew near and put their feet on their necks."  - Josh 10:24

"The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." - Psalm 110:1
