Appius Claudius

(Appius Claudius Caecus) A Roman censor from (312-308 BC). He helped the lower classes of people in public affairs. He was consul in 307 and 296 BC and later he convinced the Senate to reject the peace proposals made by Pyrrhus. He constructed the first Roman aqueduct and began construction of the Appian Way.
