Matthew
Matthew or Levi was a tax collector. Though he was Jewish, he was hated for
serving Rome. Matthew was more than just a tax collector, he was the kind that
would sit in a little Roman booth at seaports & trade routes. The Jews called
them "beasts in human shape". (1st Cent. AD)
