The Menorah which stands outside Israel's parliament, the Knesset.

The seven-branched candlelabrum has been the symbol of the Jewish people since ancient times. This giant bronze menorah, on which there appear 29 scenes from Jewish history sculpted in bas-relief, was done by Benno Elkan and presented as a gift from the British Parliament to the state of Israel in 1956.

It is inscribed with the words: "The Menorah is a symbol of the light of faith and hope which has led the Jewish people for 4,000 years often through martyrdome in their mission of upholding the religion of righteousness among men and between nations. It is the emblem of the State of Israel.
