Events in Corinth During Paul's Second Missionary Journey

#8 Many believed Paul's message and he journeyed on to Corinth. Corinth was the capital of Greece and had nearly a half-million people living there. It was the richest and most important commercial province in the Roman Empire. There he preached every Sabbath in the synagogue and stayed with a Jew named Aquila and his wife Priscilla who were tentmakers like him. But the Jews opposed him again:

Acts 18:6 But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them, "Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

God told Paul in a vision not to be afraid and that He would protect him, so Paul remained in Corinth for a couple years teaching them. Then Paul sailed for Syria and he came to Ephesus.

(See Acts 18:1-17)
