The Scribes in the Bible
Mark 2:16
- And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans
and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh
with publicans and sinners?
Acts 23:9
- And there arose a great cry: and the scribes [that were] of the
Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a
spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
Jeremiah 8:8
- How do ye say, We [are] wise, and the law of the LORD [is] with us? Lo,
certainly in vain made he [it]; the pen of the scribes [is] in
vain.
Matthew
23:34 - Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and
scribes: and [some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and [some]
of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute [them] from city to
city:

for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make
